Hey everyone! It feels like I haven't made a decent blog post in a while about my updates, but I guess the past couple have been small, thanks to the Halloween project CursedMarked and I put out at the start of this month. I put out update 1.26 last week, and it was an update for Coach Grifter. It wasn't overly complex, but the real plus for it seems to be that special selfie Coach Grifter sends. On top of the update to Coach's route, I updated the credits again (finally), and added an extra part to his book and updated how that is displayed. I'm surprised I got as much done as I did last month. I had to replace the RAM in my computer after it crashed and wouldn't boot back up (lost a lot of files, but thankfully, I had backed up things just a few days prior). Then, out of panic of thinking my puppy would dart out the front door after someone.... incompetent opened it, I spun my chair around and knocked a cup of water over on my keyboard. I never keep drinks on my desk, and the time I did... Spent a long time taking all the keys off my keyboard and drying it out. Thankfully, not too much water got in, and my keyboard was spared. I have a Black Widow Razer keyboard, so that would have set me back a bit. Unfortunately, I had a bunch of EA notes written down under my keyboard. Some of those, I can't read anymore, buuut, I'll manage! Despite these things though, things have been going well. We plan on updating and adding some things to the Halloween special, and then we'll launch it again. We got some great feedback, and we appreciate everyone that has given their thoughts on it! Art Stuff! In other new, I've commissioned a couple of artists lately to do some work for me for the cast. I really enjoy seeing what other people can do with them. On top of that, I've received some really amazing fan art lately too! Something I'd like to add about commissioning an artist... I really appreciate when they are handled professionally and courteously. I had a really pleasant interaction with Aokamidu, and he set a shining example of how it's done. It's something that makes me say, I'll commission you again in the future! Despite enjoying art from artist, it's hard to want to commission them if they aren't going to be polite. Anyhow, here's the work Aokamidu did for me of Dozer and Chester. I really love how they turned out in his style. He certainly did an amazing job with it. Here's some amazing fanart done by Forgeroo. Love his portrayal of my guys, and I now want to see a mane on my Darius sprite. He really does them justice. Be sure to click Chester, cause that's a GIF ranging through some of his emotions. Thanks so much for these amazing pieces. It really helps to inspire me to keep doing my best, seeing the love for something I've created. It's really astounding to me. A really cute piece that Rodrick got from Merfiller of him and Spencer having some dessert with each other. Apparently, Spence doesn't think he can feed himself. A commission I got from Dracostreex of Dozer, having some relaxing time of his own. Really nailed it, I think. Last little bit down here is some amazing news, and I hope to see it come to fruition early in the year (Yeah, keep in mind, 2016 is almost over!). CM has a lot of stuff on his plate, so I thought... Well, I have references for him for backgrounds, and that'll help him in the future for working those out. But, my work is still kinda bad, and it doesn't help much with little details. Enter, Mark! He'll be working with me to do rough sketches of my backgrounds to give Butch a good reference to work with to not only make his job easier, but also allow him to work faster. I hope we can get rolling with this in January!
Well, that's all for now, everyone. For my Patrons, be sure to keep an eye out for my next update at the end of the month. For non-Patrons, I'll be updating the Public demo to 1.26 when I put out update 1.28, so that'll be middle of next month. Since I updated the public demo to 1.24 when I launched 1.25, it kinda threw off my schedule a little bit. Regardless, stay tuned! Ah, and so I don't forget... I updated the FAQ after a recent question I got. There have been a handful of people that want to support Extracurricular Activities, but don't want to deal with Patreon. If you'd like to show support for the project, you can always donate through Paypal directly. Thank you all again, so so much for your constant support and all the feedback and encouragement you've given me. I can't even begin to describe how much that it all means to me. I'm only able to do this because of you all, so thank you so much.

I really loved the one of Dozer and Chester from Aokmaidu. Now I like to think that, in the routes where they pair up as tennis partners, Chester actually convinced Dozer to go to the con with him and then to the bathhouse.

I am conflicted about shipping Chester and Dozer (Dozter? Cheezer?) because while it would be awesome, I also kinda want Ches to myself...

I agree. It's hard to pair them together when i just want to keep Chester all to myself, but I just can't help it! And what hints?! There are no hints >.> <.<

Huh, I was wondering if you could get Mark to help out with the art somehow, but his style is so different from CM's that anything character-related seemed to be right out. You're giving up on 3D-rendered backgrounds then? Or is it just for bonus all-drawn scenes like Spencer Dancing and Coach in the showers?

Due to how extremely different their styles are, that just having him due the sketches like this won't really make an difference, since CM will do the final lines and color. My intent was never really to keep the 3D ones, but I wanted a placeholder of some sort. After my computer crash, I just haven't gotten the program to do it again, and realized it was more trouble than it was worth at this point. I'll prolly stick to photos that have filters on them for now, since I want them all drawn. Gotta replace those grey screens!

Glad to see it is coming along so nicely. It is really impressive to come in a bit late and to see how many setbacks you have had and yet you are still pushing updates at an amazing rate!

You'd be correct on that assumption! It's a huge change from what I currently have, but it's such an improvement already. He doesn't have much stuff, and the room is already furnished, and this sketch better shows that than the 3D horror I built x3

I wouldn't say "horror". It was the best you could do and at the very least the effort showed through! Leave a Reply. |
